Would, Should, Must and Could


     Would = Passado Pretérito (ria); Passado de will.  

Examples: I will sleep early. (Future Tense)
If I didn’t watch TV, I would sleep early. (Past tense)
I would help you, if I had time.

Affirmative Form: Pronoun + Would + verb in the base form + complement.

Negative Form: Pronoun + Would not (wouldn’t) + verb in the base form + complement.

Interrogative form: Would + Pronoun + verb in the base form + complement?
 

      Should= para dar um conselho; deveria.

Examples: I should take car!
She shouldn’t work!
What should I do?

Affirmative Form: Pronoun + Should +verb in the base form + complement.

Negative Form: Pronoun + Should not (shouldn’t) + verb in the base form + complement.

Interrogative form: Should + Pronoun + verb in the base form  + complement?


Must = deve; uma ordem.

Examples: They must do their homework.
You must speak English.
You mustn’t forget it.

Affirmative Form: Pronoun + Must + verb in the base form + complement.

Negative Form: Pronoun + Must not (mustn’t) + verbt + complement.

Interrogative form: Must + Pronoun + verb in the base form  + complement?

Could = Poderia; Passado do verbo Can (poder); Usado para demostrar que alguém tinha habilidade para fazer algo; uma possibilade de fazer algo. ordem.

Examples: You could wait me!
You couldn’t stay  there!
Could she sleep here?

Affirmative Form: Pronoun + Could + verb in the base form  + complement.

Negative Form: Pronoun + Could not (couldn’t) + verb in the base form  + complement.

Interrogative form: Could + Pronoun + verb in the base form + complement?

           Ex:  Would you like some cup of water?
           What would you like?
            I would like an orange juice, please.
            I should study English.
            I shouldn’t play in my English class.
           You must study.
           They must not send garbage in the streets.
